Job Summary 

ITFORLESS is looking for a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites with a focus on performance, security, and user experience. You will work closely with designers, marketers, and content teams to build scalable, visually appealing, and high-performing websites that support business goals. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites (themes, plugins, and core functionality). 
  • Convert UI/UX designs (Figma/Adobe XD) into responsive, pixel-perfect WordPress websites. 
  • Customize and extend themes and plugins to meet business requirements. 
  • Ensure websites are fast, secure, SEO-friendly, and mobile-responsive. 
  • Optimize website performance, page speed, and core web vitals. 
  • Implement and manage WooCommerce stores, payment gateways, and product pages (if required). 
  • Perform regular updates, backups, troubleshooting, and bug fixes. 
  • Integrate third-party tools and APIs (CRM, forms, analytics, marketing tools). 
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, content writers, and marketing teams. 
  • Maintain proper documentation and follow best development practices. 
  • Stay updated with WordPress trends, plugins, security standards, and development tools. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Proven experience as a WordPress Developer (portfolio or live sites required). 
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress CMS, themes, and plugin architecture. 
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. 
  • Experience with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg, WPBakery, or similar). 
  • Understanding of responsive design, UI/UX principles, and cross-browser compatibility. 
  • Experience with SEO best practices and performance optimization. 
  • Familiarity with security practices and WordPress hardening. 
  • Experience working with Git or version control systems is a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong communication and time-management skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with custom theme and plugin development. 
  • Knowledge of WooCommerce, memberships, and subscription-based websites. 
  • Basic knowledge of MySQL and REST APIs. 
  • Experience with multisite setups. 
  • Familiarity with hosting platforms (cPanel, WHM, AWS, Cloudways, etc.). 
  • Understanding of AI-powered tools for development, testing, or content optimization is a plus.
